This week was another week of firsts for HERE in Jackson County. Slowly but surely we are moving towards being an organization with a vision to being an organization in action.
This week we began working with our first client experiencing homelessness. We continue receiving referrals from outside agencies and look forward to accommodating the already growing demand for our services.
Additionally, in the spirit of those who donate to our cause, we made our first community donation. Because not everyone has the privilege of being able to adequately take safety precautions for emergencies, HERE in Jackson County, Inc. donated to its community partner, Down Home North Carolina, to make a donation of emergency medical supplies in preparation for Hurricane Florence. These supplies will be distributed to low income individuals and families who do not have the means to safely prepare for the hurricane. We are grateful to be a part of this effort and thank Down Home for its efforts in organizing the community response.
We are so excited for this growth but are still looking for interested people to grow with us! If you are interested in taking part in ending homelessness and housing insecurity in Jackson County and Western North Carolina, reach out to us today!
